ter Jessica Simpson was the maid of honor. The bride wore a wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier and a diamond necklace and earrings by Neil Lane. The reception featured a wedding cake piled high with a top hat, tea pot, stop watch and a pot of flowers on top. Sources claim that the couple is expecting a child together, which both Simpson and Wentz have denied. Rumors began to fly early in the week that the wedding was set for the weekend. A flurry of arrangements on Saturday afternoon just outside the guarded gates of the Simpson's property indicated that Simpson's wedding to Wentz was imminent. White shuttle vans with dark tinted windows were streaming through the gates, as were several delivery vehicles. The paparazzi had been gathering before 3 p.m., lingering outside the property. Aerial photos posted online on several celebrity Web sites appeared to show several large white party tents. Simpson and Wentz began dating in the fall of 2006 and announced their engagement April 9 of this year.
